Building a Bug Out Bag

by A-Poc

Hey guys!

I wrote a new article that you can check out here that talks about how to build a bug out bag.  It has been a long time in the making and the research got pretty extensive, but it is finally up.  Be sure to check it out and let us know what you think!  I think it does a pretty good job of covering the necessities and getting you in the right mindset as to just how to begin such a large task as building a bug out bag.

I do not have a place to go to so my BOB is geared to getting home from work.
I will need to survive at my home so food and water are much more important to me.
I have found a place to get my food for free and also to be able, if I want to, earn money to buy other survival gear.

Very thorough list of bug out bag contents. I think you got everything.

Ha, this is so detailed. I think the chemical lightstick + paracord spinning is brilliant. Must look wicked cool in the dark too 🙂

Regarding the Katadyn Hiker PRO filter – isn’t it a little heavy? I’ve seen much lighter ones on Amazon that seemed to be equally effective, but perhaps I’m underestimating the quality of this one.

It’s always a good idea to have a bug out bag.

Great article. I really like it, but I just want to add one more thing.
You might want to have multiple bags ready to go in different locations. Or possibly another bag that is geared for another person coming along or keeping yourself alive for a longer time.

I suppose that it is almost impossible to cover every possible scenario, but the BOB that you set up should cove most of them.

Thanks for the great article.
